This course is designed to provide you with the essential skills to work collaboratively with teachers and students in school and community settings. You may be involved in facilitation of learning for a range of instructional groupings, including for those students in need of additional support. In these roles, the education support worker sources and analyses information from diverse sources, may work with limited direct supervision and could provide guidance to other workers.

Education support workers work mainly with students in classroom settings in primary or secondary schools, as defined by State/Territory legislation.

To ensure an appropriate learning opportunity, prospective students need to demonstrate a capacity to undertake study at a Certificate III level, this can be demonstrated via the following:

  • Pre-training review to ensure student has the appropriate level of Language Literacy and Numeracy to achieve the competencies. Where a test result is supplied, it must be within the last 12 months.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • You will need to be at least 18 years old.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

A satisfactory National Police Check (NPC) and where a student has resided in another country from the age of 16, as a permanent resident of citizen, they will be required to provide a Statutory Declaration.
