This qualification reflects the role of a variety of workers who use a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge to provide assistance to health professional staff for the care of clients. Whether it’s learning what you need to comply with infection prevention and workplace health and safety (WHS), honing your skills on how to communicate effectively in a healthcare and community services setting or understanding how to interpret and apply medical terminology accurately, Health services assistance involves the worker in direct client contact under supervision.

To ensure an appropriate learning opportunity, prospective students need to demonstrate a capacity to undertake study at Certificate III level, this can be demonstrated via the following:

Pre-training review to ensure student has the appropriate level of Language Literacy and Numeracy to achieve the competencies. Where a test result is supplied, it must be within the last 12 months.
Basic computer skills.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

A satisfactory National Police Check (NPC) and where a student has resided in another country from the age of 16, as a permanent resident or citizen, they will be required to provide a Statutory Declaration
